My brothers Larry Brown and Garry Brown from class of 1970 have both passed away. Larry 20 years ago, and Garry on 7/28/2010. Not sure how many people remember them but they were the smallest in the ROTC picture and they couldn't even find uniforms to fit them. They had both been Firemen with AFD.

School Story or Favorite Memory:

Double R's. Remember juice can curlers and early morning practice with the band. Nearly ate a flute when they hollered beginning places once. The cold muddy game against Corpus Christi at the field next to McCallum nearly lost my boot. Also remember pre-game papering of the football players homes. Ms Flury, Mr. Elkins and Mr. Teal. All a lot of crazy stuff.

What classmates have you kept in touch with over the years?

Came over from Lanier and kept in touch with Deborah Muehlbrad as we had known each other since we were 4 yo. She past away in a Fire several years ago.

No, I was sort of a Chicken. Scare of my parents and Mrs. Dean.

As you look back on your life, what advice would you give to your kids or grand kids?

Enjoy your childhood and don't rush being an adult.

Do you have any hobbies or what do you do for fun?

Gardening, watching UT football, UT baseball, & UT Softball. Also enjoy watching Cowboys and the Rangers. Love the outdoors

What teacher stands out most in your memory and why?

Ms Fury because she was a ball of fire. Always full of energy

What did you do for fun back in high school?

Hanging out with neighbors. Marsha Bruton was crazy and we loved to practice our dancing. all those oldies like the Jerk & the Swim. Oh my, the Twist, Mash Potato and Jitter Bug. Since Beatles were Popular be all loved to dance to them. Lots of parties.

If you could re-live your high school years, what would you do differently?

Don't believe everything you are told and always test it. Truth will always be truth.

What would we be surprised to know about you?

Still have original color of my hair. Never colored it. It is just a little blonder(that is what happens to redheads)

If you could write your autobiography, what would the title be?

Lost in Space I was a very naïve person and was never really with it. I was a follower. I think I didn't really grow up until I was in my 30s. Now I wish I could go back to then and be as naive as I was. Too much knowledge can make you feel old.
